The wine

Bott-Geyl Riesling Schlossberg is made in the first Grand Cru of Alsace (80 hectares) with south orientation.

Its soils with abundant minerals determine its floral aromas, elegantly spiced, the fineness and a balanced, delicate and acidic crystalline acidity with a precise minerality.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker, Jancis Robinson, and Suckling

From granitic soils, the 2014 Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg has a deep, ripe and aromatic bouquet with flinty flavors of crushed stones. The attack on the palate is racy and crystalline, and the wine develops an intense and piquant fruit with a lingering salinity intermixed with herbal flavors like marjoram. This is an excellent Schlossberg that needs another couple of years to shine even brighter.

— Stephan Reinhardt (30/06/2017)Robert Parker Wine Advocate Vintage 2014 - 92 PARKER

Even more honeyed on the nose than their Kronenbourg 2014. And without the marked cedary green notes though that character shows more on the palate. Complex mix of spice, citrus and a rocky/savoury quality as well as a streak of citrus freshness. Complex but still with a long way to go.

— Julia Harding (28/10/2019)JancisRobinson.com Vintage 2014 - 17.5 JANCIS ROBINSON

A powerful and mature riesling with plenty of citrus and pineapple character, but also has considerable substance and strident acidity. With better harmony, this would have been rated higher. Drink now or in 2019. Made from organically grown grapes.
