The Maccone Primitivo has become a veritable pearl for the winery, winning hearts over with its ruby coloured, purple shaded grape. It is an extraordinary product from the Gioia del Colle area: it combines the subtle finesse which is typical of the local Primitivo, in the hilly inland area, with the soft intensity which is characteristic of this late harvesting variety, as in this case, in the middle of September.
What does this wine taste like?
What stands out in the aromas, which are expansive and elegant, are plums, ripe prunes and sour black cherries, on a bed of dried violet floral notes and deeper notes of black pepper with slight mineral roasting. Warm and fulfilling, the taste is distinguished by the sweetness of the tannins and its caressing softness which, while not detached from a pleasant freshness, makes this wine enjoyable and complete.

Superior wine - smell is beyond expectations. Tastes blackberries, vanilla.
This is a really good serious Primitivo. So inviting ... you can't stop tasting the wine. Smells berries and wood. Tastes, and you can't resist trying the wine after you smelled it, black berries, a little bit vanilla, oak. .... past 2 weeks i tried it again. It's bloody astonishing.
Wonderfull, fruity Primitivo
Smooth, fruity with an intense and lasting end. Ripe cherries, medium tannins, nice acidity. Black cherries in the nose, Cherries, spices, vanilla and spices in the tongue.
A superb primitivo
Angiuli is an excellent producer. This Primitivo is something special. Strong, full of flavour. If you like this type of wine, you will not regret trying it out.
On the nose Oak and bramble, not much to it. On the palate, soft tannins and low acidity, really ripe black fruit. Bramble and plum. A real fruit bomb!
I have a drawing to Primitivo wine and this was as good as most others, lovely nose of summer and black berries, slightly heavy but very good.
