Pacherhof

An enchanting place, a symbol and treasure chest of the whole of South Tyrol, Pacherhof rises on the hills of Brixen, overlooking the Abbey of Novacella. A place rich in history, so much so that the oldest farm of the company is dated 1142 and today houses a hotel with restaurant. The winery is the kingdom of Andreas Huber, who makes wine around these parts with only white grapes, typical of the Isarco Valley. The vineyards are arranged around the farm and grow on sandy and gravelly soils rich in clay and minerals, at an altitude between 600 and 770 metres. Ideal amphitheatres for a heroic and quality viticulture, thanks to the strong temperature ranges from day to night that give the wines aromatic complexity, finesse and longevity.

Grassy vineyards that look like gardens, a sign of a clear organic and eco-sustainable orientation, produce wines with a straight, precise and aromatically impeccable style. Harmonious and elegant, the whites from the Huber house meet up with a meticulous and careful dosage of wood, without losing any of their varietal characteristics. This is demonstrated by the Pinot Grigio, which is well-structured and with notes of pear. The Grüner Veltliner, citrus, tropical and typically spicy is very interesting. The mineral and harmonic profile of the Riesling, among the best in this historically suited area is exquisite.

At the forefront, however, we would place the Kerner, with its enveloping and persuasive scents, tense and mineral, which according to the annals of the Isarco Valley was introduced to Alto Adige by the Andreas Huber family. And then the jewels, which in the area are called Sylvaner. Peppery, Mediterranean, with balsamic notes of woods to be discovered and with an explosion of pear and banana, the Sylvaner only yields to Alte Reben, that is, its own selection . After seven months in large oak, here it is a slightly smoky white, with notes of lemon balm, grapefruit, pear, and with a rich, full, mineral, sapid taste: you won’t forget it.
