Bodega Suertes del Marqués

Suertes del Marqués is a family-run winery located in the north of Tenerife, in the Orotava Valley. It began producing wines in 2006, after more than twenty years dedicated to viticulture and selling grapes to other wineries in the area.

Its project is based on respect for tradition and minimal intervention in the winery. They ferment with native yeasts, reduce racking to a minimum and use sulphur in very limited quantities. All work in the vineyard is done manually, and systemic treatments are avoided; only natural products are used when necessary.

The winery is equipped with unlined concrete tanks in which the wines ferment, and certain plots are refined. Ageing takes place in 500-litre French oak casks and in large formats of between 2,000 and 4,500 litres, designed as ageing vessels, not to impart external aromas. They also use stainless steel tanks to blend plots in their Vinos de Villa and to unify barrels in single-plot wines before bottling.

Since its inception, the winery has been committed to native varieties and traditional training systems, working exclusively with winegrowers from the Orotava Valley to preserve a wine-growing heritage with more than five centuries of history.
