Bottle size and vintage
La Gerla Brunello is an engaging wine with a fine structure, with a ruby red aspect tending to garnet. The nose reveals an ethereal scent that is declined in fascinating shades of violet and iris, with hints of fruits of the undergrowth. In the mouth it offers a warm, velvety taste, balance of fabric and backbone. Excellent in combination with red meats, preferably game.

Classic excellent Brunello
I have been drinking a lot of Brunellos lately and La Gerla is definitely one of my favourites. It is a traditional Brunello that expresses Sangiovese and the Region very well. It is very fine, balanced wine, fresh and rich with very long finish and depth.by: Alex Ostling (18/02/2019) - Vintage 2013
A riper Montalcino!
Well balanced wine, with nice red fruits and acidity. Nice hints of oak and smoke. This is not a heavy wine, its young and fresh and pairs well with traditional Italian food!
