The wine

The site: at the gateway to the Côte d'Or, a few kilometers south of Santenay, this terroir is part of the Mercurey region. History and tradition: the village of Rully is very old, it would have been cleared first by a Roman named Rubilius. The soil: limestone strata from the secondary era which extend those of Mercurey. Viticulture in organic cultivation since 1990 then biodynamic a few years later. The wine shows a beautiful frank and clean color of a lively and brilliant ruby. The scents speak to us of small red fruits mixed in coulis, redcurrant, blackcurrant, blackberry. They evolve over time to more ripe nuances of syrups, then appear touches of tobacco and humid undergrowth. Nice gourmet and refined nose. The flavors are those of a great Burgundy, freshness and fat, an elegant, fine tannin, melted when the wine is mature. The finish is long, fine, fruity and a bit candied. Like every year, we sort the grapes both to select the most beautiful bunches that will be kept in whole harvest and to remove the berries that could show a lack of maturity.
