Mommessin

The second most important winery in the production of Beaujolais Nouveau, Mommessin was founded in 1865 by Jean Marie Mommessin. After several generations, today this family is an indisputable reference as far as Burgundy wines are concerned, covering a number of the sub-appellations (Mâcon, Poully-Fuissé, Moulin à Vent, Beaujolais), and Côtes du Rhône wines. These are smooth, perfumed, rich and colourful wines, traditional blends and exceptional. Great respect for the vineyard and nature is shown in making them, with harvesting by hand and tasks carried out under the guidance of the lunar calendar.

The winery's emblem is the Key of Saint Peter, derived from the name of the site, the majestic building known as La Grange Saint-Pierre, a former outbuilding of the Benedictine Cluny Abbey.
