Georges Duboeuf

Although he originally came from the Pouilly Fuissé region, Georges Duboeuf is known as 'the king of Beaujolais', having devoted all his life to making and promoting wines from this region. He quickly saw the potential of this winemaking area in the south of France and was the brains behind the worldwide phenomenon of Beaujolais Nouveau. Admired in the world of wine for both his professional skills and his personal character, his name will forever be linked to Beaujolais wines. As he said, "it is more difficult to make a good Beaujolais vin de primeur than a Château Lafite-Rothschild, Petrus or Cheval-Blanc wine."

Georges Duboeuf, who passed away in 2020, came from a family who were already producing wines in the Mâconnais region 400 years ago. His uncle and brother passed on their passion for wine to him and at the young age of 18 he dropped out of his studies to take over running the family estate with his brother. He spent his whole life working to make Beaujolais an essential drink at any table. Thanks to him, Beaujolais became a world-famous wine forever linked to a pleasant and festive image.

Thanks to the know-how and skills of the producers they work with, the firm offers quality wines with a strong personality but faithfully expressing the typicity of the terroir. Their catalogue includes Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages labels, as well as many other crus such as Brouilly, Chénas, Chiroubles, Fleurie, Juliénas, Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Régnié, Saint-Amour, Mâcon, Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Viré-Clessé... In a nutshell, a wonderful collection of wines displaying the different identities and profiles of Beaujolais and Burgundy: fruity and floral, elegant and harmonious, more or less powerful, and always easy to drink. Although some of their wines are suitable for laying down, they are all ideal to be enjoyed from a young age.
