Domaine Fournier Père & Fils

The history of Domaine Fournier Père & Fils also forms part of the history of Sancerre, the most prestigious appellation in the Loire Valley and one of the reference regions worldwide for Sauvignon Blanc. Located in the village of Verdigny, Domaine Fournier is home to the legacy of generations of winemakers. Founded in 1926, the winery was present at the birth of the Sancerre appellation and has played a significant part in the reputation the region has gained ever since. At present, the winery owns 165 different plots of wine spread around Sancerre and has also expanded into the excellent neighbouring lands of Pouilly-Fumé and Ménetou-Salon.

Throughout its history, Domaine Fournier has created a range of wines which wonderfully illustrate the great diversity of terroirs it works with. Although the winery does not have Crus or Grands Crus, they have set up their own classification system inspired by Burgundy classifications and based on the fact that their geographical landscape is similar to the Côte d'Or region. Their best wines come from the SilexTerres Blanches and Coillottes terroirs and are highly valued and recognized in over 65 countries, winning numerous top awards and recommended by many international wine guides and magazines.

With the excellent skills of their oenologist Frédéric Jacquet, Domaine Fournier wines are a true expression of the "l’art de vivre". Extremely fresh, with a wide and delicious mouth, they are great gastronomic wines ideal for pairing with a wide variety of cooking styles and dishes ranging from the high-quality elegant Parisian restaurants to the simpler cuisine of a bistrot or brasserie.
