El Albar Lurton

The Albar Lurton winery, also known in some references as François Lurton, is an outstanding winery located in the prestigious wine region of Toro, in Castilla y León, Spain. This winery is part of the legacy of the Lurton family, a renowned dynasty in the world of wine, originally from France, which has spread its passion and knowledge in winemaking to several regions of the world.

François Lurton, a member of the fifth generation of the Lurton family, decided to venture into Spain in the mid-1990s, seduced by the potential of the Toro region and its ancient vineyards. The winery's philosophy focuses on producing high quality wines, respecting the terroir and using viticultural practices that honour both tradition and innovation.

The Toro region is famous for its poor soils and extreme climate, conditions that, paradoxically, favour the production of high quality grapes, especially of the Tinta de Toro variety, a local and ancient clone of Tempranillo, perfectly adapted to these conditions. Albar Lurton wines stand out for their intensity, structure and ageing capacity, reflecting the unique character of this land.

As well as focusing on sustainability and respect for the environment, the winery employs careful winemaking techniques to ensure that each bottle expresses the essence of its vineyards. With a production ranging from young wines to complex reserves, Albar Lurton has earned international recognition, representing the best of the Toro appellation with wines that are appreciated by critics and wine lovers around the world.
