Bodegas Queirón
Wine from Bodegas Queirón

Bodegas Queirón
The new Queirón winery, which took the Pérez Cuevas family a decade to build, is located at the western end of the historic Barrio de Bodegas de Quel (it retains the classic classification of the neighbourhood itself with the original number nine) and stands on the site of an old family distillery with an architecture organised on four levels, literally buried parallel to the space where traditional caves have been located for centuries on the hill of La Corona and maintaining the same philosophy, with its nozzles in the upper area to take advantage of the traditional Queiro method of receiving the grapes, in which the steps of wine production are based on gravity, which means that all processes are carried out with extreme gentleness, protecting the grapes, musts and wines from any unnecessary handling and any mechanical pumping that could affect the quality of the wine.
This is the essence of Queirón: exquisite care in each step of the winemaking process. As in the vineyard, everything in the new winery is done calmly and with the utmost respect for the grapes to produce wines that fully express the territory in which they are born: Quel, Rioja Oriental, and Rioja.
