Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro

Founded in the early 90s by the Arzuaga Navarro family, the winery that bears his name stands near the Duero river, on the road that connects Soria with Valladolid. The building is a song to the stone, a solid and rustic monastic evocation, with its arcades, its towers and the bell tower.

It was Florentino Arzuaga, a great wine lover, who founded Bodegas Arzuaga-Navarro after buying Finca La Planta, located in the Valladolid town of Quintanilla de Onésimo. Then came the vines, the cellar and the wine, a red as he liked, with a skeleton, but elegant, round and complex at the same time. The Arzuaga family carries in their spirit the tenacity of the entrepreneur that they have been able to complete with sensitivity for aesthetics and the search for perfection.

The production of Arzuaga-Navarro wines is based on the character of each terroir, on three basic premises: the soil, the climate and the orientation. Of the 1,400 hectares that make up the estate, those with the most privileged conditions for growing vines were chosen for the vines. Among pine trees, holm oaks, junipers and a fauna made up of wild boars and deer, some vineyards are pampered and cared for in detail, since in Arzuaga-Navarro they are very clear that it is impossible to make a good wine without healthy and quality grapes. Very limited yields are imposed in tune with low fertility soils and the harsh Castilian climate, since too high a production would reduce concentration and quality of the wine. All this passion at work has made their wines already one of the most prestigious in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin and have a high regard both nationally and internationally.
