Bodega Lavia

The Molino y Lagares de Bullas project, or Bodega Lavia, was in the pipeline during 2003, when a group of people, who loved the whole wine-making culture and were attracted by the potential for producing great wines that the vineyards in the Bullas Denomination of Origin were showing, came together to establish a winery. Their main objective was to make quality wines from their own grapes, grown organically right beside the winery.

In 2004, the winery started out by establishing a philosophy of working with the utmost care and due respect for the environment, with the aim of naturally obtaining the best balance in their vine plantations and the highest expression in their wines. Their quest in the vineyards has been to create wines which reveal the soil (clay, loam, gravel and pebbles, and soil poor in organic material), the climate (Mediterranean, with a continental influence due to the mountain fronts surrounding the vineyards, and an altitude above 800 m) and the native variety (Monastrell) in every bottle produced, and this has proved the Molino y Lagares overriding purpose right from the start.
