The wine

Amaranta is the most classic Montepulciano produced by Tenuta Ulisse, but it hides a strong touch of modernity that will make you dream of the great Bordeaux reds. Indeed, this Abruzzo red confirms the exceptionality of a terroir such as the Crecchio area. A terroir capable of producing a Montepulciano suitable for ageing is ready to be drunk immediately or kept for a long time in the cellar. A red that is neither rustic nor rough but knows how to evolve, soften and become great. A southern red that is structured and complex but persuasive and smooth evolves for about a year in fine French and American barrels.

This wine is a homage of love and respect to Abruzzo's most significant red grape. It is an intense and elegant ruby-red colour. The nose is broad and complex, fruity with notes of plums, cherry jam, tobacco, and a spicy background. The palate is balanced and complex, with the tannic structure well assembled with the alcoholic component. With a great body and an excellent balance between alcoholic power and tannin, it is ideal to accompany succulent first courses with red sauce, roasts, and various semi-cured cheeses.
