Review

An ancient vine of the Sardinian tradition, perhaps brought by the Phoenicians, the Carignano shows one of the many Mediterranean souls of the island. Typical of the southern areas of Sulcis, it comes from the coastal estate between Capo Teulada and the Iglesiente mountain range. Here the vines are trained as saplings, in the traditional way, and give generous as well as original grapes.

The nose has a varied bouquet of impressive intensity. Aromas that change in the glass and reminiscent of pomegranate, currant, wild blackberries and aromatic herbs, before sweeter hints of figs and slight final nuances of licorice. The taste, warm and generous, has a caressing texture and very fine tannins, smooth and rich in flavor. It closes on long spicy and ripe fruit memories.
