Review

Franz Haas Pinot Nero is an elegant ruby red wine with a beautiful transparency. Seductive on the nose, to which it gives an intense aroma of cherry jam, violet, vanilla, tobacco, with vegetal and animal hints wrapped in suffused minerality. The taste is structured and soft, balanced and savory, with refined tannins and a finish of fruit and spices. Ideal to accompany feathered game, pork loin with plums, lamb chops with juniper and, for those who want to dare, a rich fish soup.

Since 1880 this family-run winery, one of the most firmly-rooted in this region, has shown dedication and respect in their work with the varieties which adapt best to the location's extreme conditions; among them is the Pinot Noir, with Franz Haas being one of its greatest interpreters.
