Review

Bright ruby red, on the nose it reveals a wide spectrum of sensations of violet, cherry, currant, followed by notes of eucalyptus and sweet tobacco. The palate is fresh, vivid, with a good structure and pleasant persistence.

  • Optimum serving temperature:Between 16ºC and 18ºC

Der Name ist Programm

Soffocone ist die umgangssprachliche Bezeichnung der Florentiner fuer Fellatio (man beachte das Etikett etwas genauer) :-) Und genauso viel Freude macht der Genuss dieses Sangioveses!

by: angelovillani (11/03/2017) - Vintage 2014

From a legendary cult wine maker.

What is interesting here is that in this particular vintage all of the grapes picked for the two top tier wines (Testamata, Colore-both now commanding very high prices) were 'declassified' and put into this Soffocone (2014). Alas these other wines were not made in this vintage. The tannins and texture of the wine is very impressive. Quite silky and very rounded. Good acidic backbone makes this an excellent food wine also. An excellent alternative to traditional chianti.
