Bonarda

Not to be confused with the wine of the same name typical of the Oltrepò Pavese in Lombardy (a red wine made from mainly croatina and barbera grapes), Bonarda is a typical red grape variety of Piedmont. Of quite abundant productivity, it has been known since the eighteenth century in the area of Chieri, but also in Upper Piedmont, towards Gattinara, also with the name of balsamina. Intense and lively ruby in colour, with vinous notes and purple reflections, the wine is fresh, fragrant, young, lively and snappy. Of medium structure, it has fruity notes and returns, with good persistence.
