Solaris is a white grape variety obtained in 1975 by Norbert Beker by crossing merzling, zarya severa and muscat ottonel. The result is an early grape that is particularly resistant to fungal diseases, so much so that it is quite easy to grow it organically, even rigorously. Actually, since it seems to satisfy the utopia of the "perfect vine" which does not need any intervention to vegetate and prosper, some producers do not even use copper and sulphur for its "maintenance". In Italy, experimentation has been underway for some time now, and with success, especially in Alto Adige and Trentino, where it’s vinification is authorised as part of the IGT Vineyards of the Dolomites. It expresses a straw-yellow colour and beautiful notes of white fruit, apricots and alpine herbs, with a pleasantly juicy, fresh, dynamic and vegetal palate.
