Bovale

Like many Sardinian grapes, bovale has Spanish origin, from the time of the Aragonese, although recent studies have shown its differences from its bobal counterpart. In Sardinia it has long been considered a blending grape because of its neutral organoleptic profile. Due to the warm climate of the more classic areas, between Nuoro and Oristano, bovale expresses a particularly pronounced structure, with many polyphenols, which produce dark, tannic, rather rustic and warm wines.
