Albarola
Many consider the albarola to be the "second grape" of the Cinque Terre after bosco, but actually this is not the case. On the contrary, albarola intervenes in the grapes just where bosco lacks, that is, in freshness and fragrance. Similar if not entirely comprable to the Genoese bianchetta, albarola gives a wine with a delicate straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections and an accentuated scent of field grass: mineral and iodine puffs are also due to the proximity of the sea, but they contribute to give both the Cinque Terre Bianco and the noble Sciacchetrà, which comes from the same grapes that have undergone drying, the right calibre of balance and longevity.
