The wine
Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello is a great wine for aging. With a burnished ruby red color, the nose reveals a fruity and warm aroma, with pleasant floral and aromatic herbs scents. The taste is gritty and opulent, with mineral sensations and a juicy and tannic finish. A balanced wine that for decades retains a persistence and a taste-olfactory correspondence like few others. Recommended in combination with roasts, game, Parmesan cheese and aged pecorino.

Pieve Santa Restituta
Acquired by Gaja in 1994, the Pieve Santa Restituta winery possesses 40 hectares of historic vineyards in the south-west of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. There, the stony and chalky soils, poor in nutrients, prove ideal for cultivating vines and for the Sangiovese variety in particular.
