Ferrer Bobet Selecció Especial is made from a selection of Carignan grapes from hundred-year-old plants, including some of the oldest vines in Priorat. Grapes grow and ripen on the hillsides of llicorella, the unique dark slate and quartz soils found only in the best Priorat plots and the key to the inimitable character of its wines. The Ferrer Bobet winery shows their deep admiration for this landscape with an extremely careful and meticulous vine-growing and winemaking process. The complexity and mineral essence of Priorat is expressed perfectly in their range of elegant, fresh and harmonious wines.

The result of a thorough selection of the best grapes, Ferrer Bobet Selecció Especial carries out its malolactic fermentation and 18-month ageing process in French oak. It then stands in the bottle for several months to improve even more before it is put on sale. The resulting wine has a perfect balance between the select ripe fruit, the creaminess from its ageing, and the amazing mineral qualities of the Priorat soil. It has an intense Picota cherry colour, and a suggestive nose with aromas of black fruits and floral and spicey hints which stand out above an always-present mineral background. Wide and enveloping in the mouth, it is a powerful, intense and flavoursome wine with a lingering and pleasantly fresh finish.
