Caruso e Minini

Two families, two districts, a historic “baglio” farmhouse. This is the history, and the future, of Caruso and Minini. A Sicilian family of ancient winemaking traditions, the Carusos join the Mininis, the pioneering Lombard entrepreneurs. Together, they bring together the best of the Italian savoir faire and form, around an ancient baglio in Marsala, one of the most innovative and modern wineries in western Sicily.

Innovative and modern is the style of the wines. In the cradle of Marsala, in fact, the winery creates nectars of a dynamic and snappy expression, with characteristic fragrances and decidedly intriguing and never tiring flavours. Yet the vines are the most ancestral in the Marsala area: Giummarella and Cuttaia, a total of 120 hectares, are spread over a group of hills east of the city, with a maximum altitude of 450 m above sea level, on clay and sandstone soils kissed by the typical Mediterranean climate, windy and saline.

The grapes are traditional ones. From the hands of Caruso and Minini, Grillo, Nero d'Avola, Catarratto and Perricone reach levels of cleanliness and complexity that border on perfection. An authentic and at the same time modern Sicily. And indeed the internationals are also great, with a splendid Cabernet with its thousand facets and a Syrah that can be considered among the most successful of the South. Everything in full respect of authenticity and, for more and more bottles, certified organic farming.
