The wine

A timeless classic, with a French feel and an elegance that has resulted in it becoming a must-have Cava on any wine list taking a pride. Gramona Imperial is also the house's flagship, elegant, sumptuous and very close to the French Champagnes, despite containing only 10% Chardonnay grapes. A symbol of elegance that has made this Cava a true classic among its faithful imbibers and brought about its notability as one of the most renowned Cavas in the world.

What does this wine taste like?

It has an intense nose, with aromas of stone fruit and white flowers, bakery notes, citrus fruit peel, dried fruits and nuts, and subtle toasty, yeasty and buttery hints, all in absolute balance. A pleasant entry, generous in the mouth, and creamy. Velvety bubbles and a refreshing finish which recalls the white flowers and fruit with bakery undertones.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Jancis Robinson

The 2016 Brut Imperial, their flagship sparkling wine, comes from a very dry and warm year, and the wine is open. It was produced with 47.5% Xarel.lo, 30% Macabeo, 15% Parellada and 7.5% Chardonnay that matured in bottle for 64 months. All Corpinnat wines have on the back labels the disgorgement date and the months spent sur lie. These are very traditional wines, where they have implemented very, very few changes, and now with Corpinnat, they have reduced the percentage of Chardonnay. It was adjusted to 7.75 grams of sugar that feels quite integrated and softens the sharp personality of the wine. This is certified organic, and in the future, it will also be certified by Demeter. 550,000 bottles produced. The 2016 Brut Imperial, their flagship sparkling wine, comes from a very dry and warm year, and the wine is open. Tasted blind. On the palate, it shows ripe white fruit, subtle autolytic notes and dried leaves in the background. An integrated mousse and smooth acidity. The finish is delicate and definitely fresh. A soft and perfectionist profile. It's like it brings together all the qualities of a nice sparkling wine. It has a bit of everything, all in balance and with elegance.
