The wine

Abracadabra is the fruit of the earth, of Toro. This is a wine it's a real pleasure to drink, with a nose which is essentially primary yet not lacking in complexity, a very accessible wine right from the start, but one we recommend not combining with food too hastily; this is a wine to enjoy sip by sip.

It has that magic touch of fine Toro wines: rusticity transformed into elegance. Made from the fruit of well-mature vineyards, with grapevines that can be as much as a hundred years old, this wine is full of balance, a balance between the rustic side (understanding by rusticity its genuine character, its natural fruitiness) and its elegance (the goodness of all wine obtained through devoted and patient toil).

It's a lively wine in the glass, a dark Picota cherry colour, with cardinal red hues on the rim and slowly-falling tears. It appears to be of medium density, and it isn’t one of those wines having great concentration. Its aromas are open, of unmasked fruit (blackberries, plums, blueberries) and fresh, very fresh, imparting a lovely balsamic touch which moves on to the delicate fragrance of violets. The nose is clean and elegant, a primary one, with a sweet touch and creamy undertones that remind us of the froth on recently-made coffee, plus hints of pencil shavings and cured cheese.

On the palate, after a supple but powerful entry, it is pleasurable and reasonably complex, with some earthy notes. It is medium-bodied too, with an unctuous texture and ripe tannins, yet still maintaining their vigour. Just to repeat: this wine is a real pleasure to drink and leaves us with a wonderful flavour in the mouth even on its finish: the creaminess of that coffee, the fine ageing notes and hint of caramel enhancing the aftertaste.

Abracadabra, the magic of Toro.
