Named after the manager who looks after the running of an estate, this wine pays homage to the magnificent old Syrah vines found in the Barossa valley and to the vine-growers who devote such care and attention to them. The reward is a highly concentrated wine with incredible fruit purity and the capability for cellaring over many years to come.
The nose exudes an array of delicate dark aromas, with vividly expressive notes of blackberries, blackcurrants and high roast intermingled with peppery, spicy and tarry hints. The dense, concentrated palate displays the rich texture of this wine, offering velvety-smooth tannins and lush ripe fruit, culminating in great length.
Matured for 24 months in mainly older French oak barrels.
