The Eguren family has kept to the very best in traditional style Rioja with this 100% Tempranillo, sourced from their vineyards over 30 years old near San Vicente de la Sonsierra. After a manual selection of clusters at harvest and further sorting at the winery, careful vinification processes ensure that an exceptional wine conveying the expressiveness of the Tempranillo grape is ready for traditional oak-ageing. A period of 18 months is spent in French and American oak barrels (20% new and 80% used for up to 3 previous wines), with regular racking every 4 months and bottling without filtration.
This bright, ruby-red wine reveals an intense, complex aroma on the nose with an elegant bouquet supplied by oak-ageing: notes of fresh ripe fruit are well-balanced by hints of spices, vanilla and toast. A velvety mouthfeel on the palate develops firmly into sensations of well-ripe red fruit, enhancing a powerful, elegant structure with fine tannins. Appreciable toasty notes, vanilla and light balsamic touches appear on the aftertaste, with red fruits highly noticeable, ending with a long, persistent finish.
NOTA: Best stored at a constant temperature and lower than 14ºC. Ready for drinking now and for the next few years.
