Prima is made from 100% Tinta de Toro grapes grown in vineyards aged between 5 and 25 years old, situated in different parcels in San Román, Villaester and Morales. For the production of this wine, the winery uses vineyard parcels with distinctive traits less suited to their San Román wine, rather more mineral and ebullient in character.
Garnet-coloured and intensely opaque, the nose is sweet and fragrant, highlighting black fruits (blackcurrants and blackberries) along with spices such as vanilla and cinnamon that suggest toasty-biscuit wafts. Oak is evident on the palate, which is very structured and tannic and offers a fine aftertaste of pumpkin seeds.
Aged for 11 months in one and two-year old French oak barrels.
The size of the bottle influences ageing of the wine. The smaller the bottle, the faster it ages.
This is why great wines always come in big bottles.
Maurodos
Toro, Spain
Maurodos is, to put it another way, Bodegas Mauro in the Toro denomination. Mariano García (Bodegas Mauro, Aalto) started this project in 1995, with vineyards of mainly Tinta de Toro grapes (90%) but also Garnacha, in Pedrosa del Rey, Villaester and San Román de Hornija.
In Spain, we deliver to the whole mainland, the Balearic Islands, the Canaries, Ceuta and Melilla; we also deliver to all other countries within the EU (except the Azores and Madeira), Andorra and Switzerland.

Transport costs include packaging in cardboard boxes specially designed to protect the bottles in transit, and insurance against loss or breakage.
