The wine

Planted around 80-100 years ago, the very old Garnacha and Cariñena bush vines provide the foundation (77%) for this complex, intense, excellently balanced wine. The addition of Syrah (16%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (7%) from younger, trellised vines makes for a perfect creation, a wine that is structured, rounded and richly flavoured.

Meticulous care is taken at all stages of the wine-making process: pumping over is done manually with hand plunging to submerge the cap carried out three times a day in temperature-controlled open-top fermentation vats. Deep ruby-red in colour, with a mineral touch on an earthy nose, also exuding black berry fruits and wild lavender notes; full length and depth on the palate, with black cherries and berries in abundance, and a concentrated, intensely rich finish.

The wine from each parcel is aged separately in new (82%) and older (18%) French oak barrels for 12 months, producing a total of just under 5,000 bottles.
