Danish-born Peter Sisseck released the first Pingus onto the market in 1995. The enthusiastic response and particularly the 98 points bestowed by Robert Parker even on that first vintage converted him into a cult figure in vine growing. It was the first Spanish wine to come close to the top of the American critic’s prestigious list. But the road to success did not end there and later he earned the coveted 100: Pingus 2004 was one of the five first Spanish wines to feel deservedly proud of having achieved the perfect score. In the 2007 list, not just one but five Spanish wines for the first time in history achieved the epitome of “perfection”: Pingus 2004, Termanthia 2004, Viña El Pisón 2004, Contador 2004 and Clos Erasmus 2004.

The size of the bottle influences ageing of the wine. The smaller the bottle, the faster it ages.
This is why great wines always come in big bottles.
