This single varietal Pinot Noir is what we should call an interesting wine. To start with, it has a most intense colour that is nothing like what we are used to for this variety. On the nose, its aromatic complexity requires some aeration and, once the touch of tautness and even greenness has disappeared on opening the bottle, it opens up to reveal spicy and menthol aromas: a very fresh nose, even suggesting a hint of sweetness that is to be confirmed later on the palate, making it all the more enjoyable.
When tasted blind, it is difficult to place this wine, proof that the terroir has played a decisive part in the character and personality of a wine made from grapes that have received all due attention and the fruit complete respect.
