As is so often the case, Catena brings to mind a wide array of aromas and flavours combined into a concentrated, balanced wine of great character. Here, the profile runs from notes of blackcurrants and cassis to spicy aromas with hints of pepper and touches of eucalyptus. This is a great wine, truly varietal in nature, and rich and juicy too. It has been aged for 12 months in 85% French oak (with 30% new) and 15% all new American oak barrels.
