Finding a property with old vineyards that leads to the production of high quality wines is a stroke of luck. Albert Jané, of the Jané Ventura winery in Penedés, has succeeded in finding just that in the Denomination of Montsant. Assured of their basic ingredient (Acústic is made with fruit from 35 to 65 year-old vines, leaving the older ones for their other wine, Braó) and with ageing for a short time in lightly toasted barrels, he has managed to retain the naturalness of the fruit and achieve excellent harmony. This is a lively-coloured wine, displaying elegance in its array of aromas, mature yet fresh, an “acoustic” wine as its creator like to call it, without resorting to the modern trend of “electrical” technology and through which they are seeking to establish the merits of traditional viticulture.
“A fine, individual and elegant wine that expresses the characteristic qualities of our vineyards in a completely natural way.”
A lively shade of ruby-red in colour, with lilac tones on the rim, the nose displays elegant aromas, of ripe fruit, with light traces of ageing (an almost imperceptible toasting), and balsamic and spicy hints. Powerful, dense and meaty on the palate, the wine is fresh and well-laden with ripe black fruit. The tannins, acidity and wood integrate well and there is a lengthy finish.
Note: This wine has been neither filtered nor clarified in order to preserve its character for even longer in its purest form.
Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, lightly-toasted and previously used for one wine.

The size of the bottle influences ageing of the wine. The smaller the bottle, the faster it ages.
This is why great wines always come in big bottles.
