Five grape varieties have been blended masterfully, with Xarel·lo as the base and Pinot Noir making a first appearance in the 2003 vintage. Moreover, four different plots provide the grapes, namely La Plana, Barbera, Serral and Gran. The hand-picked grapes are transported rapidly to the winery where gravity plays its part in moving them around, in an atmosphere controlled by dry ice. The first fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, with separation by variety and soil type. Blending and second fermentation in bottle follow on, with date of disgorgement recorded on the back label.
A pale yellow colour, the wine exhibits fresh fruit aromas on the nose. There are hints of citrus fruits, along with toasty and fruit nuances, and touches of delicate pastries. Explosive on the palate, there is plenty of freshness and a firm character, with abundant fruit notes.
