La Rioja Alta

A historic Riojan winery with emblematic brand names such as Viña Ardanza, Viña Arana, Viña Alberdi and, most recently, Marqués de Haro.

A product of the enterprising and pro-European spirit of its founders, La Rioja Alta began life in 1890 as the Sociedad Vinícola de la Rioja Alta in Haro, the city with which it has always maintained close links and the location of its main winery. Since 1996 it has had the services of a new winery in Labastida, just 1500 metres away from the century-old bodega.

The Grupo La Rioja Alta consists of La Rioja Alta and Torre de Oña in La Rioja; Lagar de Fornelos in the Rías Baixas; and Bodegas Áster in the Ribera del Duero. The prestigious "Parker list" for 2008 included 5 wines from the Grupo La Rioja Alta with scores over 90 points.
